چکیده
Abstract An electrochemical‐assisted leaching process using boron‐doped diamond (BDD) electrodes was developed to recover valuable metals from photovoltaic modules. With BDD peroxydisulfate is generated sulfuric acid oxidatively dissolve copper, tin and silver solar cell contacts. Since the oxidant regenerated in process, no additional hazardous volatile chemicals are required, can be operated solely by electricity. In addition, dissolved electrochemically recovered at cathode of same cell.

Research on recycling of CdTe PV modules and manufacturing waste aims in optimizing the separations and recovery of glass, cadmium and tellurium while minimizing life-cycle emissions and energy use, under the constraint of low cost (e.g. a few cents per watt). The major tasks of our research are: a) Cleaning of glass from the metals and recycling of glass; b) separation of Te from Cd and other ...
متن کاملLife Cycle Design of Amorphous Silicon Photovoltaic Modules
The life cycle design framework was applied to photovoltaic (PV) module design. The primary objective of this project was to develop and evaluate design metrics for assessing and guiding the improvement of PV product systems. Two metrics were used to assess life cycle energy performance of a PV module: energy payback time and electricity production efficiency. These metrics are based on materia...
متن کاملField Performance Measurements of Amorphous Silicon Photovoltaic Modules in Kenya
Our research team measured the performance of 130 amorphous silicon (a-Si) photovoltaic (PV) modules and 17 crystalline PV modules at 145 homes in rural Kenya. We also purchased 14 a-Si modules in Nairobi that we tested at outdoor testing facilities in the US and Kenya. We used an outdoor IV test method that has an accuracy of ±5% and a repeatability of ±5% for clear sky conditions. The large m...
